Shaker Home Office Desk

Having a home office has become an essential feature of so many homes in the past few years. Even if you don’t have an entire room dedicated as a workspace, having a custom office desk can turn an awkward nook into a brilliantly functional office space.

You are limited only by your imagination and we created this sample home office desk unit to showcase how you can squeeze an entire home office into one desk space.

It has a narrow profile – much thinner than a conventional desk – understanding that modern computer work requires much less space than a conventional off-the-shelf office desk.

We incorporated cupboards, shelves and drawers, space for a large screen, keyboard and mouse storage, as well as using a combination of bare and painted wood finishes.

This home office desk has a curved English Oak top sourced locally from Interesting Timbers.

The frames and doors of the desk are made from English Ash which is also sourced locally from Vastern Timber.

The desk is on adjustable feet and the side panels can be scribed over skirting or dado rails.

The desk includes built-in lighting and cable management to ensure that you can always see properly and all wires are carefully hidden in suitable places.

The shelving is sized to suit box files, A4 folders and large books to suit your office filing and admin storage, as well as some smaller shelving for more decorative items.

The large monitor space is big enough for two screens if required and the shelf means that a keyboard can be stored underneath leaving plenty of desk space for other paperwork.

The base cupboards are big enough for a printer with appropriate cable management.
