About

You’ve made a house a home – now let’s make it your home.

About Charlotte: founder, interior architect, and lover of a gin round the campfire

I’ve always loved houses and working in other people’s homes, seeing how they influence the place they live and vice versa (with my great grandfather being an architect, maybe it’s in my blood.).

After graduating with a degree in Architecture and a master’s in Interior and Spatial Design, I found myself growing disillusioned with the work I was doing for big corporations – as well as the daily London commute.

My husband David and I decided to plant roots in wonderful Somerset, where we set up our business and started our family.

When I’m not working, I love road tripping with my husband and children, parking our campervan up and enjoying a glass of gin by the beach or the campfire. (All of the above? Total bliss.)

It’s incredibly important to me to not only design a space that suits you, but to help make it happen. In an industry that’s male-dominated on all sides, from architects to builders to contractors and everything in between, it’s my job to advocate for what you really want. Seeing the space transform is brilliant, of course, but the real result for me is seeing the change it creates for you!

About Frome Interiors: Interior architecture for Frome, Somerset and Wiltshire

Frome Interiors began in 2013 as a bespoke furniture company, created by me and my husband, a professional cabinet maker (a handy pairing, don’t you think?)

As the business grew, so did the scope of our enquiries, and I began to take on more and more interiors projects. With this in mind, Frome Interiors has evolved into a practice focussed solely on interior architecture – though I still know a very good cabinet maker, if you’re looking for one…

What is interior architecture?

Interior architects deal with both the style and the structure of an interiors project.

When most people think of architects, they imagine building from the outside in – designing a building first, and then planning the details inside to fit. Interior architects work the opposite way, designing from the inside out and most importantly focusing on how the spaces will be used.

Our housing needs evolve as we do, but you bought your home for a reason – it’s my job to create a space that works for you whilst keeping the elements you fell in love with.

"I was extremely pleased with the service Charlotte provided when planning our living room. After years of struggling with the layout of the room Charlotte provided several solutions to the problem. She mapped out several ideas which we then worked on together to achieve the final plan.

Charlotte has a friendly yet professional approach to her work. She maintained communication throughout and also provided me with useful contacts. A valuable service which I would use again."
