Coronavirus Guidance

Working in Your Home

For our business to function it is essential that we work in your home to install the bespoke furniture you have commissioned. We understand that this may involve some risk to ourselves and to you.

We have set out some guidance to help us all minimise our risk and to set out what you can expect from us and what we require from you.

Please read this carefully and let us know as soon as possible if you are not happy to go ahead with your project at this time.

We will take these extra steps to keep you and your family as safe as possible:

  • We will wash our hands more often than usual, for 20 seconds using soap and hot water, particularly after coughing or sneezing.
  • We will reduce the spread of germs from coughing or sneezing by covering our mouths and noses with a tissue, or sleeve if we do not have a tissue and throw the tissue in a bin immediately, then wash our hands.
  • We will clean regularly touched objects and surfaces using regular cleaning products to reduce the risk of passing the infection on to other people.
  • We will maintain social distancing as much as possible.
  • We will open windows to increase ventilation in any rooms we are working in.
  • We will wear face masks when we are in your home.
  • We will have a maximum of two workers in your home at one time and these workers will not change over the course of the project.
  • We will remove all waste and personal belongings from your home at the end of each day. Where tools and materials are left at your home, they will be left in the room we are working in and there will be no need for you to handle any of these
  • We will only work in one home at a time and will not travel between projects or take unnecessary trips out.
  • We will bring our own food and drink with us and take our breaks outside if the weather permits, in the room we are working in or in our own vehicle.
  • If we develop any symptoms or anyone in our household develops any symptoms then all work will immediately be put on hold. We will request a test to minimise any unnecessary disruption to your project. If we do have to self-isolate this may
    cause significant delays.
  • When we arrive at your property we will call you so that you can open the door and then vacate the area to allow us to enter safely.
  • If we need to discuss any aspect of the project we will do this outside if the weather permits, maintaining 2m of social distancing at all times.

What we need you to do:

  • We need you to inform us if you or anyone in your household is shielding or in a vulnerable category.
  • You need to let us know if you or anyone in your household develops symptoms or has been in contact with a confirmed case of the virus.
  • Leave all internal doors open where possible to reduce the need to touch door handles or other surfaces.
  • Identify busy areas where social distancing is not possible (such as the staircase) and make sure you avoid these areas as much as you can.
  • Make sure there is a basin and toilet we can use, ideally separate from the one you will be using. If there is only one toilet and basin available then please clean surfaces such as taps after each use. If there is no basin for handwashing available then please inform us in advance so we can provide hand sanitiser.
  • Practise good hand and personal hygiene in line with Government guidance.
  • If we need to share a confined space then please wear a face mask or cover your
nose and mouth with a scarf.
  • Keep the house well ventilated.
  • You do not need to offer us any food or drink, we will make sure we bring our own.
  • Clean any frequently touched surfaces at the end of the day and before we arrive
    in the morning.

If you have any questions or concerns about this document then please email us or call us to discuss it further.
